Getting a break

Here's a county-by-county breakdown of property tax reductions.

Los Angeles County

Homeowners who will be getting a reduced valuation will be notified by June 30. The average reduction in assessed value is expected to be about $73,000. You can apply for a "decline-in-value" review any time before Dec. 31, but officials advise against waiting until the last minute.
